The Friend of a Friend (FOAF) project is creating a Web of machine-readable pages describing people, the links between them and the things they create and do.

FOAF is based on RDF, a complete and complicated framework. FOAF RDF can then be exported in XML and in other formats, so FOAF is not XML.

FOAF is surely an overkill for simple export of data, it would be better to define an ad-hoc simple XML format. --Phauly 11:00, 25 July 2007 (CEST)
